A happier workplace takes your business

to the next level!

Are some of your employees dissatisfied in their work?

Is bullying or conflict happening in your workplace?

Are you a business owner who wants respectful interactions between ALL your staff?

The Happy Workplace can help you if:

  • there is ongoing conflict within your workforce

  • 2 or more staff members have a "clash of personalities" that is affecting other workers and impacting the productivity of the business directly or through increased absences from work

  • there is a general dissatisfaction between workers and the employer or one particular employee

  • the communication styles in the workplace are leading to misunderstandings and assumptions that disturb the functioning and happiness within the workplace

  • there is a higher than normal staff turnover due to personal interactions within the business or the workplace 'vibe'

  • as a supervisor, manager or owner of a small business you find communication and interpersonal relationships within the business setting a challenge and would like to learn the skills to improve your performance in this vital area of your business

Challenges particular to small businesses include:

  • The practicalities of having limited actual physical space as a small business can mean that employees sometimes find themselves working alongside people they would not ordinarily choose to spend their time with

  • Family members are frequently involved with the running of a small business and this can sometimes be seen by other employees as unfair or difficult and generate feelings of resentment
  • Privacy and confidentiality can be more difficult to safeguard in a small business setting. At thehappyworkplace we can arrange to connect with individuals over Zoom at a time that allows for minimum disruption to the working day and secure the privacy of those involved

  • While small business owners are experienced in their chosen field, like the people they employ, they are not necessarily experts in diplomacy. They may struggle to mediate between staff members who are upset and may also sometimes find it difficult to provide clear, unambiguous communication in a tactful way

WORKPLACE BULLYING

  • It is necessary for all employers to take any complaints of workplace bullying seriously. Apart from the toll it can take on the business itself, a small business can be ruined if a complaint is taken to court.

  • Because small businesses have only a small workforce, staff who feel they are being unfairly treated may be reluctant to talk about it, especially if their complaint involves the owner or a member of the owner's family. The introduction of a third-party such as thehappyworkplace can not only have success to resolve the issue, but will also demonstrate the intention of the business to assist its workers and take their well-being seriously.

THE SOLUTION

The Happy Workplace provides a range of support options tailored to your unique situation

  • We listen to all 'sides'

  • We do not judge or apportion blame

  • We do not accept 'excuses' - instead we listen to 'reasons' and encourage everyone to accept personal responsibility for their own actions, behaviours and responses

  • If we feel there is a genuine unfairness on the part of any individual or a business practice, we strive to help those concerned to see and appreciate the 'bigger picture'

  • We support those who decide they wish to change, to do so as easily as possible

How do we do this?

Individual Mentoring

Individual mentoring is recommended when a specific need has been identified, such as dissatisfaction or conflict between two or more employees or one employee and the business itself.

Group Workshops

Workshops are recommended to respond to more generalised disharmony in the workplace and are tailored to the particular needs of the workplace at that time

Testimonials

Right from the start of our 'connect' call, I got a sense of warmth and authenticity from Ak. We covered a LOT of ground, I shared parts of my journey and Ak was able to add layers of understanding and insight to my experience. Throughout the conversation I felt safe and seen. Look forward to continue leveling up with Ak's assistance!

Grateful.

"I've always found dealing with conflict and tension very difficult, in both my personal and professional relationships. Akashi spent the time getting to know me so that she could give me really practical insight into how I can take action to change my relationships for the better."
